What you can expect

  • Step into the heart of Louisiana’s wetlands on this guided covered pontoon boat tour operated by Adventures of Jean Lafitte. Just a short drive from city centre New Orleans, the bayou opens into a world of moss-draped cypress trees, winding waterways, and abundant wildlife.

Your captain offers expert narration on local animals, wetland ecology, Cajun heritage, and the history of the Barataria region. Along the way, you may encounter alligators sunning on the banks, turtles, raccoons, and a variety of bird species including great blue herons, egrets, and osprey.

The covered pontoon boat provides shade and comfort for all ages, making this a great choice for families, seniors, and groups. You may choose to meet directly at the Lafitte dock or upgrade to include return transport from select New Orleans pickup points.

This relaxing, scenic bayou tour is one of the best ways to experience the natural side of Louisiana.
