What you can expect

Uros, Taquile & Sillustani by Speedboat Full Day

Most Lake Titicaca tours make you choose between the islands and Sillustani. This one fits all three into a single day — and the secret is the speedboat.

Hotel pickup in city centre Puno begins at 6:50–7:05 AM, followed by a short transfer to the port. From there, the speedboat cuts across the lake significantly faster than a standard tourist boat, leaving more time on the islands and making the afternoon stop at Sillustani possible without rushing.

The first stop is the Uros Floating Islands, where your bilingual guide (English/Spanish) walks you through the reed construction and daily life of one of the oldest ethnic groups in the Andean region. The spongy surface underfoot, the smell of totora drying in the sun, the low hum of the lake wind — it's a setting unlike anywhere else.

From Uros, the speedboat continues to Taquile Island — about 1 hour 15 minutes across open water. On arrival, a 20-minute walk leads up to a local restaurant where lunch is served: freshly caught grilled trout, or an egg omelette for non-fish eaters. After lunch, free time to explore the island at your own pace, including the main square where Taquileño men demonstrate their weaving — a textile tradition recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage. The boat heads back towards Puno, arriving at the port around 3:30 PM.

Waiting at the dock is a private vehicle for the overland transfer to Sillustani, the dramatic pre-Inca funerary complex overlooking Lake Umayo. The chullpa burial towers — some over 12 metres tall — stand against an open altiplano sky, and the contrast between the still lagoon below and the ancient stonework above makes for one of the more quietly impressive settings in southern Peru.
