Full-day Tour to Holloko and Eger - Vibrant Folk Culture with Wine Tasting Dinner at Szepasszonyvolgy” (the Valley of the Beautiful Woman). Travel back in time to the enchanting village of Holloko, a UNESCO-listed ethnographic village famed for its preserved 17th-18th century rural houses and timeless atmosphere. Wander narrow streets, visit the Village Museums and savour homemade delicacies in a local bakery. Then, continue to Eger, where baroque grandeur meets epic history. Explore its majestic castle, impressive basilica, and optional quirky Beatles Museum, before indulging in a wine-tasting dinner in the famous Valley of the Beautiful Woman (Szepasszonyvolgy).

Holloko: known as a living museum of Paloc culture, this village preserves authentic traditions and architecture dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. You will have a guided walk through the Old Village: stroll through narrow cobblestone streets, visiting the quaint village church, the insightful Village Museum, the Weaving House, traditional post office, and historic printing press, the Doll Museum and a traditional early 20th century school. Your guide will share fascinating stories about the village’s past, folklore, and the legends surrounding the nearby castle ruins.

You will then visit a local bakery and enjoy a sweet pause where you can sample a freshly baked traditional Hungarian strudel or cake.

Then travel to Eger: The Baroque Jewel, where you will continue to the historic city of Eger, one of Hungary’s most beautiful baroque towns with a thousand-year-old ecclesiastical centre.

You will visit the Castle of Eger and the Dungeons and explore the impressive Castle, famous for its heroic defence during the Ottoman siege, and descend into the atmospheric dungeons that tell gripping tales of the past. Visit the Waxworks Museum for a blend of history and fun!

Tour the Classicist Basilica: you will admire the grandeur of Hungary’s second-largest church, with its remarkable organ.

Dinner and Wine Tasting in Szepasszonyvolgy (Valley of the Beautiful Woman) where you will conclude your day with a traditional dinner in the renowned Szepasszonyvolgy, famous for its robust red wines. Enjoy a tasting session with authentic Hungarian wines.
