Spend a full day exploring the north of Slovakia, where you will visit the area's most famous and important sites on a whirlwind tour.
Begin with a train ride from Žilina to Bratislava, where your guide will meet you. Then transfer to Vratna for a walking tour of Janosik Gorge. Heading south into the Mala Fatra National Park, you will transfer to Janosik's Lower Gorge, passing under Rozsutec Mountain. This walk takes approximately 2-3 hours. You will also visit the village of Terchova, which is the hometown of the Slovak national hero, Juraj Janosik, after whom the gorge was named.
In the afternoon, transfer to see the Orava Castle, located high up on a rock overlooking the Orava River. This is where many scenes from 1922's Nosferatu were filmed. Take a tour of the premises and the inside, before returning to the train station for your trip back.
