Experience a Traditional Nagashi Somen & Japanese Dining Experience in Fukuoka

After gathering, your host will introduce the history and traditions of Nagashi Somen, one of Japan’s most beloved summer customs. You’ll then enjoy a fun, hands-on cultural experience.

Experience Schedule

Introduction to Nagashi Somen (Approx. 10 minutes)
Learn about the history and cultural significance of Nagashi Somen.

Build a Bamboo Flume Together (Approx. 20 minutes)
Work together to assemble a traditional bamboo flume with guidance from your host.

Learn How to Enjoy Nagashi Somen (Approx. 10 minutes)
Learn how to use chopsticks and how to enjoy flowing somen noodles.

Flow, Catch & Enjoy the Noodles (Approx. 35 minutes)
Take turns pouring water, sending somen noodles down the bamboo flume, and catching them with chopsticks. Everyone gets to experience both flowing and catching the noodles.

Commemorative Photo (Approx. 5 minutes)
Capture memorable photos with your handmade bamboo flume.

Clean Up Together (Approx. 10 minutes)
Finish the experience by cleaning up together.

Enjoy a Shared Japanese Meal

Enjoy Nagashi Somen together with three seasonal Japanese side dishes. The dishes are served family-style, with portions adjusted according to the number of participants.

One alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink is also included.

Minimum Booking Charge

A minimum booking charge of ¥45,000 applies per booking. Solo travellers and groups of two are welcome to book. For 1–3 guests, the total price is ¥45,000. For 4 or more guests, the price is ¥15,000 per person.

Age Restriction
This experience is intended for guests aged 21 and over.

Weather Policy
As the Nagashi Somen activity takes place outdoors, the experience may be cancelled in case of rain. Guests will be notified by the day before.
