Ready for an unforgettable 2-day adventure deep into the heart of Tunisia? From booking to departure, we ensure a seamless experience. The day before, our team sends a WhatsApp message with your pick-up time and driver's contact, so you can simply look forward to the journey. A warm welcome awaits at your hotel reception.
Day 1: In the Footsteps of Gladiators and Berbers
Our first stop is the Amphitheatre of El Jem, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the third-largest Roman arena ever built—also the best-preserved in the world. Your multilingual guide brings ancient history to life as you explore the underground passages where gladiators once awaited their fate, then climb the stone stands for breathtaking views.
Next, we head south to Matmata, the legendary Berber village featured in The English Patient and Star Wars, with a brief café stop along the way. Discover the troglodyte homes carved into the rock, meet warm local hosts, and enjoy an included lunch at a traditional troglodyte house, tasting authentic olive oil and wild honey.
We continue towards Douz, gateway to the Sahara, as the landscape shifts from greenery to golden dunes. Settle into a desert camp, with free time for optional quad biking or a sunset camel ride. Watch the sun dip behind the dunes, then enjoy a folkloric evening of music, dance, and bread baked beneath the embers, followed by dinner and a night under the stars.
Day 2: Magical Sunrise and Mysterious Oases
After breakfast, we drive to Chott El Jerid, the vast salt lake, to watch a stunning sunrise over the Atlas Mountains casting golden reflections across the salt crust.
Next, the mountain oasis of Chebika near Tozeur—a lush haven of palm trees and waterfalls tucked in rocky canyons. After a 1.5-hour drive, lunch awaits in Gafsa. We then continue to Kairouan, Tunisia's holy city, visiting renowned carpet workshops, rooftop views of the Great Mosque of Okba, and a stroll through the UNESCO-listed medina. Finally, we return to your hotels, hearts full of unforgettable memories.
