At the Oarai Seafood Market, you are at the source. Wander through stalls overflowing with the morning’s catch—massive scallops, creamy oysters, and premium sashimi. For lunch , we recommend a “Kaisen-don” (Seafood Bowl) piled high with local delicacies. It’s a true taste of Ibaraki’s coastal bounty that you won't find in the city.

The highlight of our trip is the vast Hitachi Seaside Park, a world-renowned floral paradise that offers a breathtaking new “carpet” of colours every few months:

Spring (Mid-April to Early May): The legendary 4.5 million Nemophila (Baby Blue Eyes) bloom, turning the hills into a surreal “Blue Sea” that merges with the sky and ocean.

Summer (July to September): Watch the hills turn into a vibrant green with fluffy Kochia bushes and golden sunflowers, capturing the energetic spirit of Japanese summer.

Autumn (October): The Kochia bushes transform into a fiery crimson red, creating a stunning contrast against the blue autumn sky. Cosmos flowers also dance in the breeze.

Winter (January to February): Discover the rare beauty of Ice Tulips, blooming defiantly against the cold, offering a splash of colour in the serene winter landscape.
