What you can expect

Begin your day towards Kruja, once the centre of Albanian resistance during the time of Skanderbeg. Stroll through the traditional Old Bazaar, known for its stone streets, artisan shops, and Ottoman-era style!

Inside the castle complex, you can visit two historic museums:

  • The Skanderbeg Museum, dedicated to Albania’s national hero and medieval history,
  • The Ethnographic Museum of Kruja, located inside a traditional Ottoman house showcasing daily life and local traditions.

Next, head to Durrës, one of the oldest cities on the Adriatic coast. Explore the impressive Durrës Amphitheatre, the largest Roman amphitheatre in the Balkans, before visiting the city’s medieval castle walls and the iconic Venetian Tower.

Afterwards, enjoy a relaxing walk along the seaside promenade, experiencing the lively atmosphere of the waterfront and views of the Adriatic Sea. Continue with a short drive to the beach area, where there is free time to enjoy the coast on a hot summer day before returning to Tirana in the evening.
