Discover the city of Arica on a full-day excursion from Tacna that combines history, heritage, shopping, and coastal landscapes. Cross the border between Peru and Chile and discover some of the most representative places in northern Chile.
The experience begins with pick-up from your hotel in Tacna and transport to Arica. Upon arrival, you'll begin a tour of the historic centre of the city, where you'll see the Cathedral of San Marcos, an iconic metal structure designed by Gustave Eiffel and brought over from France.
You'll also visit the historic Casa de la Respuesta, a place linked to one of the most important episodes of the Pacific War. During the tour, you'll learn more about the events that shaped the history of the region.
Afterwards, you'll have time to stroll along Avenida 21 de Mayo, one of Arica's main shopping areas, ideal for shopping and exploring local stores.
Then you'll continue to the famous Morro de Arica, one of the city's symbols. Here, you will visit the Historical Museum and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the coast. You'll also see the Cristo de la Paz and other monuments that commemorate the shared history of Peru and Chile.
The experience continues with a tour of some of Arica's best-known beaches, including La Lisera, El Laucho, and Chinchorro. You'll have free time to walk along the coast, take pictures, and, depending on the season, enjoy a swim in the sea.
At the end of the visit, you will begin your return trip to Tacna.
