09:30 am – The boat trip within the Asinara National Park begins with departure from Stintino, from the Guardia Costiera square, entering the protected waters of the park. From the very first moments of navigation, the scenery unfolds with rugged granite coastlines, wild coves and wide green landscapes that reveal the most authentic soul of the island.
1st Stop – Cala d’Oliva – one of the island’s main landing points and a place of great charm and historical significance. The bay is home to two beautiful light-sand beaches, washed by a sea of intense colours: one south of the promontory, known as Sa Murighessa or the “Prisoners’ Beach,”.
Cala d’Oliva represents the historical heart of Asinara. Here, it is possible to stroll among the historic buildings of the former penal colony, now partly home to the Park Authority and the Environmental Education Centre, and admire from the outside the famous Diramazione Centrale, one of the symbolic places of the island’s prison past.An experience that combines nature, history, and landscapes of rare beauty.
2nd Stop – Cala del Bianco – Leaving Cala d’Oliva behind, the navigation continues towards Cala del Bianco, one of the most enchanting bays of Asinara. This stretch of coastline is renowned for its exceptionally clear waters, with shades ranging from deep blue to emerald green. Surrounded by typical Mediterranean scrub, the bay offers the perfect setting for a refreshing swim and a relaxing break before moving on to the next stages of the excursion.
During this stop, lunch is served on board and includes a first course with prawn sauce, accompanied by wine, water, coffee, digestif, traditional Sardinian liqueurs and fruit.
3rd Stop – Cala Reale – located in the northern part of the island and home to the Asinara National Park headquarters. Facing south, this area has long been one of the island’s most important landing points, thanks to its historic harbour. Cala Reale preserves numerous traces of Asinara’s past, with buildings dating back to the period when the island housed a quarantine station (Lazzaretto) and a penal colony.
In addition, those who wish may take part in the guided tour of the Sea Centre and the exhibition path dedicated to marine fauna and the whale skeleton, currently operating as a replacement for the CRAMA, temporarily closed for renovation works. The visit is optional, lasts approximately 30 minutes, and requires a €4 ticket (free for children up to 12 years old and for people with disabilities).
4th Stop – Li Graniti or Punta degli Inglesi – selected according to wind conditions to always ensure the best possible experience. In both locations, guests can enjoy swimming in crystal-clear, pristine waters, perfect for a relaxing break.
The boat trip around Asinara then comes to an end. In complete relaxation, the return journey towards Stintino begins, with arrival expected in the late afternoon. Return is expected at 5:30/6:00 PM.
