Know before you book

  • The Road The only access road to Komani Port goes through Vau Dejes. This section can be a bit bumpy, but it offers beautiful scenic views. Most importantly, it is safe. During the drive, our tour leader will entertain the group to create a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
  • Water Level If the river water level is low, we will adjust the itinerary if needed, switching from a larger boat to a smaller one inside the canyon to ensure you reach the destination.
  • Water Temperature The river water is cold, usually from 2 to 7 celsius. Do not jump in suddenly. Before swimming, gradually wet your body to help prevent health issues.
  • Rainy Day In case of rain, please make sure to bring a rain jacket with you.

What you can expect

At the designated time, we'll meet in front of the Rozafa Hotel in Shkodër. From here, we'll make our way to Lake Koman, a reservoir created in 1979. Are you ready to spend the day in turquoise waters.

After an almost 2-hour drive, we'll reach the lake's pier, where we'll board a boat that will sail to the Shalë River. Throughout our journey, you'll discover the beauty of the Albanian Alps surrounded by waterfalls, wild forests, karst caves, and pristine waters, creating a truly unique landscape.

After our approximately 30-minute journey, we'll reach the shores of the Shalë River. Here, you'll explore the area, swim, take incredible pictures, rent a kayak, and try the local food. Fun!

Lastly, we'll sail back to the pier where our day trip started and return to Shkodër. After a total of 10 hours, we'll say goodbye at our starting point.
