What you can expect
This is your all-access ticket to one of the world’s most iconic swimming experiences, with return transfer from Reykjavík included for an easy journey to and from the lagoon. Your admission includes full entry to the lagoon and its facilities, use of a towel, a non-alcoholic drink at the in-water bar, and a Silica Mud Mask at the mask bar.
Recognised by National Geographic as one of its 25 Wonders of the World, the Blue Lagoon sits amid volcanic lava fields on Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula, inside a UNESCO Global Geopark. About 45 minutes from Reykjavík, the Blue Lagoon is easy to reach and worth building your whole Iceland trip around. It's unlike anything else on earth.
After your transfer from Reykjavík, you’ll arrive at the Blue Lagoon and walk along a 300-meter dramatic lava corridor to the entrance of the main building. After check-in, you’ll receive an electronic wristband, which conveniently serves as your locker key and allows you to make cashless purchases throughout your visit. The showers are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. Once you've showered and changed, step out into the famous blue waters. There's also an in-water entrance, so you can slip straight from the changing rooms into the warm geothermal seawater without stepping outside.
The lagoon invites you to soak, socialise, take pictures, or simply do whatever the moment calls for. At around 10,000 square metres, the Blue Lagoon is the largest swimming lagoon in Iceland, with tucked-away nooks and quiet corners all around. If you're looking for extra space and privacy, head to the quiet zone at the far end of the lagoon.
Make sure to stop by the in-water mask bar for your included Silica Mud Mask. The key skincare ingredients are drawn from the Blue Lagoon water itself, known for their effect on the skin. Nearby, the swim-up bar awaits with a selection of refreshing drinks, and your admission includes one non-alcoholic drink of your choice.
After your time in the lagoon, your coach conveniently transfers you back to Reykjavík.
The warm, milky-blue water is geothermal seawater: a blend of 70% seawater and 30% freshwater, rich in silica, algae, and minerals. The water has been studied for over 30 years for its skin-healing powers. The Blue Lagoon was never purpose-built. It emerged as a byproduct of geothermal energy production and was shaped by the landscape around it. The water is naturally clean and self-renews every 40 hours, with no additives or chemicals needed. The location, the origin, and the composition of the water are just some of what sets the Blue Lagoon apart from any other swimming destination in the world.
