What you can expect

This event is performed as a form of male initiation.
You will leave from Manaus at 9:00 AM for a 1 hour car journey to the Parana of Ariau. Then, travel by speed boat for 45 minutes to the Trible Sateré Mawé at 11 AM.

At 12:00 PM, enjoy a simple lunch of rice, flour, ants, and salad. This lunch is typical to the region.

At 1:00 PM, listen to an explanation of the traditional indigenous pharmacy, including natural medication made with the leaves and bark of trees.

At 2:00 PM, the tourists will help the indians to find the famous ants, or tucandeiras.'

At 3:00 PM, start the presentation. Please feel welcome to film, take photos, and participate in a traditional dance.

At 4:00 PM, return to Manaus, and arrive at 6:00 PM.
