Itinerary
Day 1
We will pick you up at the agreed meeting point in Iquitos and, without wasting any time, we will head to the port of Bellavista to board a boat that will take us to the jungle lodge. Along the way we will make a stop at the confluence of the Amazon and Nanay rivers to discover the fauna that inhabits these waters, where we will be able to see the first piranhas!
After dropping off our bags and replenishing our energy with a delicious lunch, we will head to one of the villages that inhabit this lush area. We will learn about the lifestyle of the local farmers and the medicinal plants they use and their healing values.
After returning to the lodge and enjoying dinner, we will offer you the possibility of taking a night walk.
Day 2
We will start the day with a visit to Neyser Island to see its famous serpentarium. In addition to these reptiles, we will also have the opportunity to see other animals such as anteaters and sloths, monkeys and turtles. On the way back, we will try to spot the Amazon pink dolphins.
In the afternoon, we will visit a butterfly farm to learn about their metamorphosis process first-hand.
Day 3
We will wake up at 4:30 in the morning to take a short night walk through the jungle and watch one of the most beautiful sunrises you have ever seen. Afterwards, we will return to the lodge to replenish our energy with a hearty breakfast and continue with the activities.
During this day we will visit the Yagua tribe, from whom we will learn their typical dances and discover their crafts, and you will surely want to buy some nice souvenirs of the experience! In addition, in the afternoon, we will also visit another indigenous community in the area to learn about their traditional medicine techniques.
Day 4
On the last day of the excursion, we will sail down the Amazon River to fish for one of its most feared fish: the piranhas. And, if that were not enough, we will also take you to a therapeutic mud area that will leave your skin as good as new.
Finally, after lunch, we will return to the city of Iquitos, where we will arrive at approximately 4:00 p.m.
