Departing from Coimbra, we will head for Aljustrel and Valinhos, the villages where the 3 shepherd children—Lúcia, Francisco, and Jacinta—lived. There, you will experience the rural setting that served as the backdrop to the Marian apparitions of 1917.
Upon arriving at the Sanctuary of Fatima, we will visit the Chapel of the Apparitions, the spiritual heart of the site. With a bit of luck, you might be able to attend a Mass.
We will then continue to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, with its impressive 65-meter (213-foot) tower, where the mortal remains of the three seers are buried. Finally, we will explore the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, a modern work of religious architecture.
After this unique experience of faith and culture, we will return to Coimbra.
