Description

Enjoy sweeping mountain views and feel like royalty as you journey to the fairytale estates of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof with all the comforts of travelling on a luxury coach. Meander through the alleys of Oberammergau and marvel at woodcarvings and frescoes showing historic Bavarian themes.

Settle back in a comfortable seat with plenty of room and complimentary WiFi, snacks and drinks, while you travel to the royal castles on an air-conditioned coach. Your first stop is a guided visit to Linderhof, the only palace King Ludwig II of Bavaria lived to see completed. Follow your tour guide through the exquisite interior and stroll through the landscaped gardens, past fountains and sculptures scattered among flowerbeds.

The tour continues to Oberammergau, where you have time to wander the cobbled alleys of this quaint village. See examples of traditional woodcarvings and discover the setting of the town's famous passion play before you head to Schwangau – home to Neuschwanstein Castle, the most famous of Ludwig's royal projects.

Before your guided tour of the castle, you can either have lunch or set out for Mary's Bridge, one of the best spots to see its eccentric architecture.

This premium tour was definitely the way to go. Our guide Monika was informative and extremely knowledgeable. Monika and our bus driver Sennet (?) made this a first class experience all the way. The coach is large and comfortable and very clean. There are snacks and beverages on board so you do not have to worry about getting breakfast or having to carry water. The tour includes tickets to both Linderhof and Neuschwanstein and what is even better you do not have to wait in line for either of them, the tour has it all covered. You just hop on the premium bus, and Monika and Sennet take care of everything. We had a cloudy and drizzly day in November, which ended up being perfect for going to Neuschwanstein since there were no long queues at the bridge next to the castle. Monika and Sennet really made the trip fantastic and since the group is so small, you end up bonding as you visit the castles. The ride is very comfortable so it is worth it to splurge on this ticket if you can!

A truly amazing way to see these sites! I didn’t want to get off the bus whenever we arrived back it was that good. Both our guide (Stephanie?) and our driver (Jordan) couldn’t have been nicer and made sure you were completely settled. The price may seem steep, but I wholeheartedly recommend it as it includes tickets to both Linderhof and Neuschwanstein, which priced individually can be quite expensive. With tea, coffee, water, fizzy drinks, were always available along with light snacks throughout the day. And the bus was very luxurious it was like flying in first class. I got a beautifully cold clear day in November and the scenery with the winter snow made the journey so cosy. I will say that at Linderhof some of the statues were boxed up but this is for their protection from the elements (understandable) and Neuschwanstein I recommend the bus up. If you are visiting Munich, this specific activity is a certain must! Will be recommending to everyone I know.

Travelled as solo parent with two children. Everything from start to finish was excellent. The coach was super comfortable. The guide (Ursula) was informative and engaging. Most importantly the castle entry was made easy (even at this time of year there were queues aplenty). Refreshments on the coach were plentiful and a glass of wine en route back to Munich completed things nicely. Not cheap but great value for a great day out. Recommended.
