Explore Izu: Mt. Omuro, Jogasaki Coast & Resort 21 Train
Depart from your chosen meeting point and time to begin the day trip.
Explore Mount Omuro, the volcanic “Matcha Pudding of Izu,” by taking a scenic cable car to the top to walk its 360-degree circular trail, which inspired the crater in the film Your Name.
Visit the neighbouring Izu Cactus Zoo, Japan’s largest desert plant park, to see free-roaming capybaras, meerkats, and kangaroos.
Ride the panoramic Izu Sea View Train Resort 21 along the east coast cliffs, catching stunning Pacific Ocean views along the “Spirited Away”-esque Golden Route section.
Discover the dramatic Jogasaki Coast to watch powerful waves crash against 30-meter-high cliffs and see the historic Kadowaki Lighthouse.
Walk across the thrilling Kadowaki Suspension Bridge, which spans 48 metres long and hangs 23 metres above a steep ocean canyon.
Stop at Roadside Station Ito Marinetown, a seaside rest stop with hot springs, dining, cruises, and souvenirs (may be cancelled in case of heavy traffic).
Begin the return journey at 15:00, aiming to arrive back at the Shinjuku West Exit Sumitomo Mitsui Bank meeting point by 18:10.
