Our naturalistic itinerary winds along the southern slope of the volcano, passing through areas of pioneer vegetation, larch pine forests and ancient lava flows, which tell the storey of volcanic activity in the area. Along the way, you can stop to admire numerous geological formations of great charm that help make the landscape extraordinarily unique. Panoramic views of the Ionian coast, with views of Catania and Syracuse, and, on a clear day, even Calabria, combine with the spectacular view of the Valle del Bove, one of the most impressive volcanic depressions in Europe, giving emotions that complete an immersive experience in nature. The route is classified as easy or intermediate and does not present significant technical difficulties, but still requires hiking shoes and appropriate clothing, essential to face the wind often present at higher altitudes.
