Our Etna Adventure off-road tour in a 4x4 is the first and only tour from Catania to the Rifugio Sapienza on Mount Etna, offering an off-road adventure to explore the volcanic landscape.
The route includes significant stops to explore with a licensed guide:

• Cava Asero: An area of interest due to its geological conformation and because it is a disused lava extraction quarry (30-MINUTE STOP)
• Serra La Nave pine forest: A pine forest that often marks the transition to higher altitudes and offers a contrast between the vegetation and the lava rock.
• Teseo Screpolato: a monumental bronze sculpture located at a spectacular vantage point (10-MINUTE STOP)
• Rifugio Sapienza (final stop): Located at about 1900 metres on the south side of Etna, it is the arrival point where you can admire the Silvestri Craters. (STOP 2H30)

This type of tour combines driving on dirt roads between lava flows and forests with the aim of illustrating the geology, flora and eruptive history of the volcano.
