The site is considered to be the place where Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus, spent her last years, and it has become a pilgrimage destination for Christians from around the world. For Christians, the House of the Virgin Mary holds immense religious importance as it symbolises Mary’s role as the mother of Jesus Christ. Many believe that being in the presence of where Mary once lived brings them closer to the divine and strengthens their faith. Belived that drinking water from here brings you luck, love and wealth.

After our visit to House of Mary, we start to explore the Ephesus city. Ephesus is one of the largest and most impressive ancient cities in the world. Located within what was once the estuary of the River Kaystros, Ephesus comprises successive Hellenistic and Roman settlements founded on new locations, which followed the coastline as it retreated westward. Excavations have revealed grand monuments of the Roman Imperial period including the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre. Little remains of the famous Temple of Artemis, one of the “Seven Wonders of the World,” which drew pilgrims from all around the Mediterranean. You will discover the magical Allure of Selçuk, immerse yourself in ancient history and explore this UNESCO World Heritage city.

After exploring the magnificant Ephesus we will have a late lunch by the Lake Bafa. A very traditional local restaurant. Situated in the beautiful Lake Bafa National Park, with the spectacular backdrop of Latmos mountain, Bafa is a haven of tranquillity. And if you are lucky, you might witness to one of the biggest mistery on the planet, One may find this hard to believe but the eels in Lake Bafa come from the Gulf of Saragossa in Mexico. Once the eels in Lake Bafa reach a certain maturity they start on their long journey which takes them up to the Menderes River through which they reach the Aegean Sea from where they reach the Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic to reach Gulf of Saragossa in Mexico.
