What you can expect

Day 1: Cambridge and York.

We begin with a walking tour of the university city of Cambridge and maybe followed by a punt on the river Cam. Heading north we'll stop briefly at the town of Stamford, the prettiest stone built town in England before heading for our night stop in the city of York.

Day 2: York and the Yorkshire Dales
After a walk through the Shambles and along the medieval walls of York there'll be an opportunity to visit the Minster and Jorvik museum before we head off to Harrogate, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.

Day 3: A full day in the Lake District

With its lakes, mountain views, picturesque villages, and literary connections, it offers a truly unforgettable. If you wish, we can take a boat trip along one the lakes for some great views.

Day 4: Beatle’s Liverpool and Chester

Head to Liverpool for a fascinating Beatles experience, where music lovers can enjoy the city’s famous heritage and iconic landmarks linked to the Fab Four. In the afternoon, continue to Chester, a wonderfully historic city known for its Roman roots, unique architecture, and charming Rows.

Day 5: Stratford-upon-Avon and the Cotswolds

Visit Shakespeare country in Stratford-upon-Avon, where the life and legacy of England’s greatest playwright can be felt throughout the town. From there, continue into the Cotswolds, with its honey-coloured villages, gentle countryside, and picture-perfect English scenery. This is one of the most romantic and picturesque days of the tour, ideal for guests who love literature, history, and rural charm.

Day 6: Oxford and Blenheim Palace

Explore Oxford, the world-famous university city with its dreaming spires, elegant colleges, and rich academic heritage. A walking tour adds depth and character, while Blenheim Palace provides a magnificent stately-home experience and a fitting contrast to the city’s intellectual atmosphere. This day offers a refined and sophisticated highlight to the journey.

Day 7: Bath, Lacock and Stonehenge

Finish with the graceful city of Bath, where Roman history, Georgian elegance, and beautifully preserved streets create a memorable final chapter. Continue to Lacock, a charming medieval village with wonderful atmosphere and timeless appeal, before ending with the iconic Stonehenge. It is a dramatic and fitting finale to a tour that brings together England’s finest cities, landscapes, and historic treasures.

This 7-day England tour offers a superb balance of history, scenery, culture, and iconic landmarks. It is ideal for travellers who want to experience the very best of England in one carefully planned journey, with each day offering a different flavour and a fresh highlight. From Cambridge to Bath, from the Lake District to the Cotswolds, this is a classic England experience with wide appeal and lasting memories.
