What you can expect

The journey begins at Puerto Bahía Túnel, located just 18 km from the city of El Chaltén, Argentina's trekking capital. From there, we'll embark on a journey through the turquoise waters of Lake Viedma, currently the LARGEST glacier in the LOS GLACIARES NATIONAL PARK. The initial route takes us south along the bay, skirting the coast and allowing us to get a close-up view of the imposing silhouette of the Huemul Massif, one of the region's most iconic mountains.

After about 40 minutes of sailing, you'll arrive at Cabo de Hornos Bay, where you'll disembark for an easy hike. The trail leads you to a panoramic point on the Cabo de Hornos Peninsula, from where an unforgettable scene unfolds: the magical Bay of the Icebergs, with its drifting ice blocks and the backdrop of the Andes Mountains.

After enjoying this unique landscape, we'll get back on board to experience the most anticipated moment of the excursion: getting up close to the Viedma Glacier. From the deck, you'll be able to appreciate the immense ice wall in all its magnitude, with its bluish tones and changing textures, while the guide explains the history and formation of this thousand-year-old glacier, the largest in Argentina.

Finally, we'll head back to the port, taking with us the thrill of having lived an authentic experience in the heart of Patagonia, where adventure meets the contemplation of majestic and unforgettable landscapes.

Important: The boat trip starts in Bahía Tunel. If you don't have your own vehicle, you'll need to book the additional transfer from hotels in Calafate or Chalten.
