What you can expect

Please note that this tour is Private except for the Ile aux Aigrettes portion

After your private pickup, begin a guided conservation journey through the south-east of Mauritius, a region known for its protected nature reserves, dramatic coastline, and unique endemic wildlife.

Start with a short stop at Blue Bay, where you can enjoy views of one of the island’s most beautiful turquoise lagoons and white sandy shoreline before continuing to Pointe Jérôme.

From here, board a small boat and cross to the protected island of Île aux Aigrettes, a nature reserve dedicated to the preservation of Mauritius’ rare and endangered species. Accompanied by knowledgeable conservation rangers, embark on a guided 1.5 to 2-hour walking experience through native forest where you may encounter giant tortoises, ornate day geckos, rare birds, and other species that highlight the island’s ecological restoration efforts. This is a unique opportunity to learn about ongoing conservation work and the protection of Mauritius’ fragile biodiversity.

Continue your journey to La Vanille Nature Park, a lush reserve home to giant Aldabra tortoises, crocodiles, and a variety of native and exotic species. Explore shaded walking trails, an insectarium, and wildlife enclosures while learning more about Mauritius’ natural heritage and ecosystems.

End the day along the island’s wild southern coastline, where you’ll visit Gris Gris and La Roche qui Pleure. Here, the landscape shifts dramatically as powerful waves crash against rugged volcanic cliffs, offering a striking contrast to the calm lagoons of earlier in the day.

This experience brings together conservation, wildlife, and dramatic coastal scenery in one curated private journey through the south-east of Mauritius.
