What you can expect

The Coastal Tour & Seaweed Safari is offered in German every Wednesday (April to October). We alternative between Le Guilvinec and Lesconil (this will be communicated before the tour date).

Join me on an interactive coastal hike to the treasures of the intertidal zone near the authentic port town of Le Guilvinec or Lesconil. I will welcome you to the beautiful, rocky coastline of Brittany and explore the fascinating world of edible seaweed with you. Our journey begins in the studio of a local seaweed producer and pioneer of seaweed harvesting. From there, we venture into the intertidal zone to discover the “vegetables of the sea.”

Enjoy your stay in an EU-protected Natura 2000 area and experience first-hand the rugged coastline, the crystal-clear Atlantic, and the play of the tides, which, together with the sun, produce unique marine flora and fauna. Southern Finistère is known for its exceptional richness, the diversity of its seaweed, and its deep-rooted tradition of seaweed harvesting.

Here you will learn to confidently identify the edible seaweed species of Finistère, understand their nutritional benefits and unique taste, and master the art of sustainable harvesting. Whether you're a foodie looking for fresh, healthy ingredients or a nature lover exploring the ecosystem, this tour connects you with the coast and lets you discover its hidden treasures and maritime flavours.
