Overview

Join me for a one-on-one ride through Parquemet — one of Latin America's largest urban parks — with panoramic views of the city and the Andes. We ride at a relaxed pace through scenic roads, nature trails, and cultural viewpoints while talking about Santiago.

We meet on Santiago's eastern side and get ready with high performance bikes and helmets before setting off through safe bike lanes towards the park, getting a glimpse of everyday life and local cycling culture along the way.

At Bellavista Terrace, we pause for a traditional Chilean drink before continuing to a viewpoint over the modern skyline of “Sanhattan.”

We finish along the scenic Ciclovía 42K beside the Mapocho River, taking in the last stretches of the city's landscape on the way back.

Barrio Italia

We’ll meet in Barrio Italia, one of Santiago’s most vibrant areas. From there, we’ll join the city’s bike lane network and make our way towards the 42K bike path, one of Santiago’s most pleasant, tree-lined stretches to ride.

Mapocho River (Pass by)

We’ll ride alongside the Mapocho River on the 42K bike path as we head towards the hill—an easy, scenic stretch with bridges, murals, and classic Santiago city views.

Parque Metropolitano de Santiago - Parquemet

From the base, we’ll ride about 45 min to the top, stopping along the way to take in the city’s northern views

Santiago Metropolitan Park

At the top, we’ll rest at the Bellavista Terrace—we’ll take a break to enjoy traditional "mote con huesillo", soak in the views, and snap some photos. We’ll also walk around the sanctuary area before continuing.

Sanhattan

On the way down, we’ll make a quick stop at a scenic viewpoint to take it all in—Santiago’s skyline, the **modern financial district (Sanhattan), and (on clear days) the Andes mountains framing the city. It’s a perfect photo moment before we continue the descent.

Providencia (Pass by)

We’ll cruise back to the starting point at a relaxed pace, following protected bike lanes through different communes like Providencia and Las Condes, with wonderful views as we pass parks, leafy residential streets, and quiet area corners for a smooth, scenic finish.

Barrio Italia

We’ll ride back towards Barrio Italia, following the bike lane alongside the Mapocho River, enjoying the views along the way before returning to our starting point.
