Experience proper Bosnian hospitality: Our family opens their garden and kitchen for you: Mahmut and Mirsada don't run a cooking studio, but they invite you to cook, eat and drink with them around the family table.
Together with Mirsada, you will prepare the pita before it's cooked under the sač, the traditional Bosnian method of grilling “under the bell” that makes every dish crispy on the outside and juicy and soft on the inside. Meanwhile, ćevapčići are sizzling on the roštilj, the grill, expertly prepared by Mahmut.
This is not a tasting tour with tiny portions. At the end of the evening, you sit down together in the garden, and around the dinner table, the two share family recipes, food culture, and anecdotes about everyday life in Sarajevo with you. Of course, accompanied by Bosnian beer or wine—or a glass of homemade rakija.
The evening ends with a homemade seasonal dessert and Bosnian coffee, because no guest can leave a Bosnian's house without a sip of “kafa”!
Groups for this activity are kept small with a maximum of 8 guests so the evening stays personal and relaxed. This is not a cooking class. This is an invitation into someone's home—and you will leave with new memories and friendships.
