Overview

Your first stop is Sigiriya, a huge rock in the middle of the countryside. Long ago, a king built his palace on top of this rock. As you walk up, you will see old paintings on the rock walls, stone pathways, and beautiful water gardens. When you reach the top, you will enjoy a wide, beautiful view of the surrounding area.
After Sigiriya, continue to the Dambulla Cave Temple. This special temple is inside several large rock caves. Inside, you will see many Buddha statues and colourful paintings that have been protected for centuries. The place is calm, sacred, and full of history.
