What you can expect
Day 1: Cusco
We will pick you up at the arrivals terminal at Cusco airport and from there we will take you to the hotel in the city, where you can leave your belongings and settle into your rooms. Later, we will meet again to begin a guided tour of the Cathedral, the most important temple in Cusco, and the Koricancha, the perfect example of the fusion of Inca and Hispanic culture.
Afterwards, we will leave the historic centre to go to the archaeological complexes of Sacsaywaman, Kenko, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. It will be a most enriching experience, since we will enter all of them and learn more about the Inca civilisation. At the end of the tour, we will return to the hotel and spend the night.
Day 2: Sacred Valley
We will have an early breakfast at the hotel in Cusco and leave the historic capital of Peru behind to enter the Sacred Valley of the Incas, located in the heart of the Andes mountain range. Do you know why this ancient civilisation praised this area so much? To discover it, we will visit the archaeological complex of Pisac, which stands out for its spectacular terraces and its traditional market.
In the afternoon, we will go to the ruins of Ollantaytambo, which, next to the Urubamba River, stands the famous Temple of the Sun and the fountain of the Baños de la Princesa. From there, we will take a train that will take us to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, we will go to the hotel where we will stay.
Day 3: Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu is the highlight of anyone who travels to Peru. Therefore, in this circuit we cannot miss one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. To enjoy the famous archaeological complex, we will depart from the hotel around 6:00 in the morning and upon arrival we will take a tour of the ancient citadel, which dates back to before the 15th century and is built at more than 2,400 metres high. It will leave you with your mouth open!
We will return to Aguas Calientes and from there we will get back on the train to go to Ollantaytambo. When we arrive, we will return to the hotel in Cusco to spend the night.
Day 4: Maras and Moray
After breakfast, we will take another excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, but this time we will visit the Moray complex. There we will admire its Inca terraces, which at first glance will seem like a Roman amphitheatre. It will surprise you! In addition, we will take you to the traditional town of Maras, where we will see its famous salt mines. Didn't you know that it is one of the few places in the world where pink salt is extracted?
We will finish our 4-day circuit by returning to Cusco and taking you to the airport to catch your return flight. There we will end our fantastic trip through some of the most beautiful corners of the ancient Inca Empire.
