What connects the third largest square in Italy to the lordship of the Pio di Savoia family? Most importantly, did you know that in Carpi in the 17th century we find the long hand of the Inquisition? We look forward to a visit to the small capital of the Po Valley starting from the Palazzo dei Pio, a castle complex full of mysteries and secrets and with the ghost of the “White Lady,” to delve into its main monuments to discover magic and curiosities related to their history. We will visit the Cathedral of the Assumption, built on a model inspired by Raphael's design for St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, and walking alongside the Long Portico, we will arrive in Piazzale Re Astolfo to admire the Romanesque parish church of Santa Maria in Castello, known as “la Sagra” and its 49.50-meter bell tower.
We will visit inside the Duomo and Pieve Santa Maria in Castello.
