What you can expect

The Imbros Gorge, located in the Chania region of Crete, is a fantastic destination for those looking to experience the island's natural beauty and enjoy an adventurous hike. Known for its stunning landscapes and peaceful atmosphere, the gorge offers a unique experience that should not be missed.

It is one of the deepest and narrowest gorges in Crete. The gorge starts from the village of Imbros on the Askyfou plateau at an altitude of 780 metres, and ends at the village of Komitades, near the beach of Fragokastelos (where we will head at the end). It is 8 km long and requires about 3 hours of hiking to cross it. Anyone who wants to cross the gorge should bring water with them, as there are no springs on the descent. At the end of the tour there will be time for swimming and lunch at Frangokastello!
