We’ll start in the centre of Courmayeur, where we’ll pick up our E-bikes together. After a quick round of introductions, I’ll show you the route on the map and the stunning peaks we’re about to see.
We’ll begin by leaving the town behind and taking a farm road up to the sanctuary of Notre Dame de la Guérison, which offers a breathtaking view directly over the Brenva Glacier.
From there, the trail levels out and follows the riverbank before climbing a few switchbacks towards the Miage Plain, where the panorama opens up spectacularly. Along the way, we can take two relaxing breaks at traditional alpine huts: Rifugio Combal, which we’ll reach just over an hour after starting and boasts a magnificent view, and Rifugio Elisabetta, located at the halfway point and famous for its delicious polenta. Both are easy to reach and perfect for a snack or a traditional lunch.
We’ll continue to climb until we reach the Elisabetta refuge at over 2,000 metres above sea level. Then, depending on the group’s level, we can decide whether to push on to Col de la Seigne. Following an easy cycling path, we’ll reach the highest point of our excursion: the border between Italy and France at 2,516 metres.
