Discover the countryside between Comporta and Alcácer do Sal from the saddle on a relaxed, guided horse riding experience through the Herdade de Montalvo. Follow peaceful sand paths beneath cork oak and pine trees and enjoy the quiet rhythm of nature—perfect for kids, families, first-timers, and anyone looking for a memorable outdoor activity.
Before setting off, meet the horses and join a short introduction covering basic riding techniques and safety. Your experienced equestrian guide(s) will help everyone feel comfortable and confident, even if it’s your very first ride. Helmets are provided, and the pace is just walk, so beginners and children can enjoy the experience with ease.
Once you’re ready, the ride begins along scenic forest trails with plenty of shade and classic Alentejo landscapes. Guides walk alongside the group, controlling the horses and may lead the horse when needed. With small group sizes, you’ll have time to settle in, take in the surroundings, and enjoy a calm, steady journey through the estate.
After around 40 minutes on horseback, you’ll return having shared a simple, authentic moment outdoors—an ideal way to slow down, connect with nature, and create a special family/friends memory.
