An indoor visit of the fantastic and one of the largest European Gothic Cathedrals. The foundation stone was laid in 1248, but it took more than 600 years to complete the building.
Take your free time to visit the relics od Cologne’s importance in Ancient Roman times (f.i. the Dionysos floor mosaic, with 75 square metres one of the largest north of the Alps). Or the testimonies od medieval urban life displayed by the mighty city gates and fantastic Churches. Or the outstanding modern art collections.
If you prefer: close to the cathedral stretches a large pedestrian shopping area.
On our way back we do a stopover at Limburg to see the picturesque old centre and the colourful medieval minster.
