With Monumental Tuk Tours, discover the city of Coimbra in a unique way
Our tours are conducted in a quiet, environmentally friendly electric tuk-tuk.
Our host is a local polyglot who will share the history and secrets of every corner of the city during a fun and relaxed tour.
Take the opportunity to drive through streets you wouldn't otherwise be able to access and to truly get to know the first capital of the Kingdom of Portugal. After the tour, you can go straight to the most interesting sites and avoid having to walk up and down the city's hills without fully understanding what you are seeing.
The usual starting and ending point for the tour is Largo da Portagem, but we are flexible and can pick up or drop off our customers at their hotel or at any other location in the historic centre.
The tour includes 5 stops to get out of the tuk-tuk and take photos, notably at the famous University of Coimbra, but also at the city's most stunning lookout points, such as the Miradouro do Seminário Maior, Penedo da Saudade, Miradouro do Vale do Inferno, and the Santa Clara-a-Nova Monastery.
The tuktuk can accommodate up to 4 people in addition to the host and is equipped with removable transparent covers, so that, regardless of weather conditions, it is always possible to visit all points of interest in maximum comfort.
To complement the tour, we provide printed guidebooks with comprehensive information about the places we visit, including a map, in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian, so that, should there be any language barriers during the tour, everyone can understand everything about the city and the places we visit.
