Begin your adventure with a scenic cruise along the Wujiang River, a 100-kilometer stretch of emerald water that meanders past steep karst cliffs, tumbling waterfalls, and dense green woods. As you drift along the river, admire the breathtaking natural scenery and the profound Ba-Yu salt transport culture that has shaped the region for thousands of years.

Next, head to the Wulong Karst Tourist Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and national 5A-level scenic area. Spanning 135 square kilometres, this extraordinary landscape features giant sinkholes, fissure gorges, natural stone bridges, limestone caves, alpine meadows, and primeval forests. Explore the core attractions, including the Three Natural Bridges, Fairy Mountain, and Furong Cave, and discover why this area is hailed as the “Earth’s Karst Museum.”

Continue to Fairy Mountain National Forest Park, a national 5A-level scenic area and national forest park known as the “Switzerland of the East” and “Southern China’s No.1 Alpine Pasture.” Perched at an altitude of 1,900 to 2,033 metres, the park is home to 22,000 hectares of virgin forests and 6,700 hectares of alpine meadows. Enjoy the cool average temperature of 22°C in summer, or visit in winter for fantastic skiing experiences. In spring and autumn, the park is filled with blooming wildflowers and ethereal mist, creating a fairy-tale atmosphere. Don’t miss popular activities like riding the grassland train, horse riding, camping, and forest hiking.

Finally, visit the Three Natural Bridges, the world’s largest cluster of natural bridges and the iconic landmark of Wulong. Composed of three colossal natural stone arches — Tianlong Bridge, Qinglong Bridge, and Heilong Bridge — these bridges stand over 300 metres high and stretch more than 500 metres across on average. Take the cliff lift down to the valley floor, and look up at the grand archways that resemble huge gates leading to the sky.
