Discover the world of ceramic modelling in this pottery workshop in a green laboratory on the border between Italy and Slovenia. We will start preparing the clay for working by kneading it with the bull's head technique: this way the clay will have a uniform consistency and will be easier to work with. Then we will model the piece of clay using the pinch pot technique, creating an object of our choice, such as a cup, a bowl, a plate, or a small vase. Finally, the object will be decorated with slip colours, special colours composed of liquid clay and ceramic pigments. At the end of the lab, your work will be dried in the studio for about two weeks. It will then be fired twice, first at 980 °C, then at 1,020 °C, and finished with a glaze to create a glass-like impermeable surface. After about 3 weeks, you can pick up your pieces at the studio, or you can arrange local shipping for an additional fee.
