A train tour of Cefalù is the ideal way to discover one of the most charming towns in Sicily, which combines the sea, history and traditions in perfect harmony. The train journey allows you to relax and enjoy stunning views of the coast and hills, arriving conveniently just a few minutes from the historic old town and the seafront. As soon as you get off the train, you are immediately immersed in a Mediterranean atmosphere of unique light, colours and scents.
The tour begins in the heart of the historic old town, among cobbled alleyways, medieval arches and typical shops. Here you will admire the famous Norman Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site commissioned by Roger II, renowned for its extraordinary Byzantine mosaics. The tour continues to the charming Medieval Washhouse, carved into the rock and crossed by spring water. During this part of the tour, the guide will accompany the group with a detailed explanation of the main tourist sites lasting about an hour and a half, offering an engaging narrative that combines history, interesting facts and local traditions.
At the end of the guided visit, there will be free time to experience Cefalù on your own: you can stroll among the typical shops in the centre to do some shopping, enjoy an artisan gelato, relax in the sun, or take a dip in the crystal-clear waters. For the return journey, you can choose to go back with the guide on the 2:30 PM train, scheduled to arrive at Palermo Station at 3:30 PM. Alternatively, you can choose to extend your stay in Cefalù: in this case, the guide will provide the return ticket and all the necessary instructions for returning independently.
It is important to know that the trains used are regional trains and do not offer seat reservations. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that seats will be available or that they will be next to each other: at busy times, you may have to travel separately from other participants or even stand.
