The tour of Catania's historic centre takes place with an experienced tour guide who will tell you about Catania's historical events and illustrate the main monuments that have arisen over the centuries.
Several of these monuments have survived the many natural destructions that Catania has suffered through the centuries, allowing us to best describe the development of the city that was founded by Greek settlers in the 8th century BC.
After a short briefing with your guide, you will start to explore Piazza Duomo, where the city's Cathedral is located. You will have the chance to enter and appreciate it in all its majesty. You will then move on to the famous fish market, where you will be captivated by the shouts of the street vendors and the colours of the stalls. Other stops will follow, including Castello Ursino, Piazza Dante, Piazza Università, Piazza Vincenzo Bellini and finally return to the meeting point after about 2 hours.
On request, it is possible to take the tour also in the afternoon at 5 pm.
The tour is guaranteed in Italian and English. Additional languages are possible on request.
