Embark on an adventure in the heart of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, just 6 miles (10 km) from Castellane, in the narrow gorge of the Haut Jabron. With its semi-underground passages and crystal-clear pools, this canyon is perfect for an introduction to canyoning with family or friends. After a safety briefing and an initial encounter with the water, you will tackle your first natural chute, which leads into a semi-enclosed section of the canyon.

The route continues through a narrow gorge, followed by a sloping chute, and then the famous “canonnière” chute: a 5-meter (16-foot) descent that will give you a real adrenaline rush. After passing through a cat flap, you will perform a series of jumps and slides from various heights, always under the supervision of your instructor. The highlight of the activity is a 15-meter zipline abseil, which is perfect for learning abseiling techniques in complete safety.

The experience concludes with a roughly 40-minute walk back to the starting point, providing one last opportunity to enjoy the verdant landscape of the Verdon. A fun and accessible course that you absolutely should not miss during your stay in the region.
