Get picked up from your hotel in Cappadocia and head to Mustafapaşa, an ancient Greek city. Also known as Sinasos, this ancient settlement is closely linked to Orthodox history. Learn about the role Mustafapaşa played in the Turkish War of Independence.
Next, visit Sobessos, just outside Sahinefendi. Discovered by treasure hunters in 2002, this Roman settlement is home to the remains of city spaces such as the baths, the agora, the basilica, and the bouleuterion.
Leave the archaeological site of Sobessos behind and head to a restaurant where you'll have an hour of free time for lunch. With your batteries recharged, travel to the Soğanli Valley, full of rock-hewn churches of different architectural styles.
Take a short hike in the surrounding area, exploring the interior of the temples and their frescoes. Then, visit the Keslik Monastery, with frescoes that are only visible by torchlight. Finally, end the day by enjoying the view of Ortahisar Castle and drinking a nice Turkish coffee and return to your hotel in Cappadocia.
