What you can expect

The day begins with pickup from your hotel, and then drives through the Turkish landscape to Cappadocia region. Arrive at the site, which is one of the most visited locations in Turkey, and admire the world’s most unique rock formations, formed by volcanic ash and lava that has been eroded by wind and rain.

Explore the on-site Goreme open air museum, originally built in the 2nd century AD and used as a Christian cave monastery until the 11th century. Learn about how pressure from the Arabs against the Christians became so intense that churches and monasteries were created inside the caves to escape it. This fascinating and carefully preserved site is now on the Unesco World Heritage List.

Next, visit Uchisar Valley, which is the highest point of the region. Marvel at its strange appearance, stark interior and amazing panoramic landscape view. Then head to Avanos, a town famous for its pottery that uses red soil from the nearby red river, you can choose to attend a local pottery workshop and learn how to craft with this amazing natural resource. Finally, visit Urgup, a production area for traditional hand-woven carpets, to see and experience this amazing Turkish art.
