Your day begins with hotel pick-up in Bishkek before driving east into the historic Chuy Valley. Your first stop is the ancient Burana Tower complex, an iconic 11th-century minaret marking the site of the medieval Silk Road city of Balasagun. Climb the internal winding staircase for panoramic views across the plain, and walk among the ancient stone carved figures (balbals) set throughout the open-air museum.

Break mid-day for a traditional meal, featuring freshly fried, flaky kattama flatbread served with kaimak (cream), hot tea.

After lunch, continue towards Boom Gorge to explore the Kok-Moinok Canyons. Hike through winding channels carved into red sandstone rock formations over millions of years.
