Start your day in the Argentine countryside with an authentic rural experience designed for guests seeking much more than a conventional tourist activity.
At El Tranqueador, horseback riding is approached as a true recreational riding experience, not simply a slow, single-file trail ride. Our small groups and well-trained horses allow riders, depending on their confidence and experience, to walk, trot, and even canter during parts of the route, always under the supervision of professional guides.
The rides take place within Pereyra Iraola Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and one of the most important protected natural areas near Buenos Aires. We are among the few horseback riding experiences that explore this exceptional landscape where nature and history come together.
Along the way, you will ride through native forests, streams, bridges, lagoons, and historic landmarks, including Santa Helena Chapel and the historic Santa Rosa Estate. The park is also home to South America's only Agathis alba tree, a rare species whose resin can give its trunk a distinctive glow on full moon nights.
Guests may choose between two experience options:
The Morning Experience includes a homemade country breakfast at 10:00 AM, followed by a 2-hour horseback ride through the park at 11:00 AM and a traditional Argentine lunch afterwards.
The Afternoon Experience includes a traditional Argentine lunch at 1:00 PM, followed by a 2-hour horseback ride through the park at 3:00 PM and afternoon tea at 5:00 PM.
Lunch consists of traditional empanadas al disco accompanied by unlimited drinks.
Each ride through the park lasts approximately two hours and is available for participants aged 12 and older, as it requires a moderately active fitness level and the ability to mount and dismount independently.
This experience is perfect for travellers seeking an active horseback adventure, genuine Argentine hospitality, and an exceptional natural setting just a short distance from Buenos Aires.
