Join to bake scones, make homemade lemon curd and experience a warm welcome in family home in leafy North London. This afternoon tea baking experience gives you time in the kitchen and a seat at the table, with a glimpse of the city beyond its busy centre. You’ll start with an elderflower pressé before rolling up the sleeves. You’ll make traditional scones and tangy lemon curd from scratch, learning favourite tips for a light scone and a smooth curd. No baking experience is needed, we’ll guide you through each step, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. While the scones are still fresh, we’ll settle around the table to enjoy them with your lemon curd, together with a selection of jams, clotted cream and tea, served on grandmother’s china. With no more than eight guests, it’s a relaxed gathering where the pleasure of baking goes hand in hand with being welcomed into a London home. You’ll leave with the recipes and some of your scones and lemon curd to enjoy later; a taste of your visit, and something you can make again at home.
