Overview

In this activity, travellers will discover the area of Monte, in the Madalena, through an easy pedestrian track, accessible and made entirely on foot. Along the way, you can enjoy stunning landscapes over the mountain, the sea, the vineyards and the surrounding nature of Pico Island. Afterwards, we head towards the Old Creation, crossing trails linked to the landscape of the vineyard, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will visit the emblematic Old Creation Mill and continue to Lajido, by the sea, where you can observe the ancient relieves marked in the volcanic stone and learn a bit of local history. In this natural and quiet setting, a guided meditation of about 20 minutes will take place, in contact with the stone, the sea and nature. Finally, participants enjoy an outdoor picnic. Optionally, if the sea conditions allow, there may be time to take a bath in the area of Laja das Rosas.

Activity itinerary

In this activity, travellers take an easy trail on foot in the Monte area of the Madalena, with landscapes over the mountain, the sea and nature. We follow the trails of the Old Creation, passing through the vineyards, Moinho and Lajido, where we see the ancient relieves and talk a little about the local history. In Lajido will be done a guided meditation of about 20 minutes, in contact with the stone and nature. At the end, there will be an outdoor picnic. Optionally, if the sea allows, there can be a bath in Laja das Rosas.
