What you can expect

This tour is an immersive journey into the heart of Palermo's historic centre, discovering its historic workshops, ancient crafts, and the flavours that have made Sicilian tradition famous. An experience that combines culture, craftsmanship, and tastings, designed for those who want to get to know the city through the hands and stories of those who live there every day.

The first stop is the Antica Torrefazione Stagnitta, one of the oldest in Palermo, where the scent of roasted coffee still drifts through the alleys of the historic centre. Here, you can taste an authentic Palermo coffee, accompanied by granita and almond paste, symbols of traditional sweetness.

Next up is a visit to the Antico Laboratorio dei Pupi Argento, the guardian of the Opera dei Pupi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Inside the workshop, you'll get a close-up look at how Sicilian puppets are made, discovering the construction, decoration, and armoring techniques that make these famous folk characters unique.

The tour continues in the charming workshop and shop of Angela Tripi, an artist known worldwide for her scenic and highly expressive nativity scenes. Here you'll enter a creative universe of intense faces, scenes of everyday life, and simple materials transformed into true works of art, which tell the storey of the most authentic Sicily.

Inside the historic Ballarò Market, amidst voices, colours, and scents, you'll visit the historic Cannatella shop, where you can taste dried fruit and ancient products of Sicilian tradition, discovering ingredients and recipes handed down for generations.

Another tasty stop is the Antica Fabbrica di Caramelle Terranova, where artisanal production continues according to traditional methods. Here, you'll get to watch the sweets being made and taste different varieties, rediscovering the flavours of the past.

Along the way, you'll also pass through the areas of the ancient calderai, the artisans who once handmade copper pots and utensils, essential in Sicilian cuisine. It's a chance to discover a craft that's almost disappeared and understand the importance of craftsmanship in everyday life in the past.

This tour isn't just a walk through historic places, but a complete sensory experience that involves sight, smell, taste, and memory. An authentic way to get to know Palermo through its shops, its artisans, and its flavours, experiencing the city like a true Palermitan, amidst tradition, passion, and hospitality.
