Commonly known as the Dark ages the medieval period in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a mysterious and little-known topic. Explore the relationship of medieval European people and death as the Church influenced everyday life during this period to an extent that is hard to understand today. Discovery to fascinating world of medieval tombstones stećci; specific for the, at that time from the Vatican standpoint, heretic Bosnian Church. The National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina holds a vast collection from medieval period and the majority of the collection is actually related to death and burial traditions. The tour will feature a curated visit to the frontal garden of the Museum, the Botanical Garden, the Medieval period permanent exhibition and will end in the room of the Sarajevo Haggadah where the priceless and rare pieces of burial textiles from this period are displayed.
