This is a house with a past, and we wanted to give it a future with a storey that only takes on the dimension it deserves when and if it is shared with everyone.
In 1936, this house was bequeathed by the original owner, José Manuel da Silva, to our grandfather Mariano, his godson.
The Museum is located on the ground floor of this 19th-century house, which has a wine cellar with 46 original clay barrels, as well as a vinegar cellar, a courtyard, the old stable, and a well. In the past, wine from wooden barrels, wine vinegar, and brandy were made here.
Discover the tradition of Vinho de Talha, an ancient winemaking technique that dates back to Roman times and that the Alentejo has never lost. In a self-guided tour full of innovation using multimedia: your cell phone or tablet will be the window to a reality that, although ancient, returns to the future and is hidden in this space, which was and is a winery.
End your visit with a tasting of 2 Vinhos de Talha and a tasting of local products such as bread, olive oil, olives, cheese and sausages.
