What you can expect

Visit the Bogotá Gold Museum and learn about the goldsmiths of the indigenous cultures that inhabited Colombia during prehispanic times. An expert guide will take you on a private tour of the museum.

On the 3-hour tour you’ll marvel at the largest prehispanic gold collection in the world and hear about the traditions of the different cultures.

In 1939 The Bank of the Republic began to acquire, preserve and exhibit items of jewellery and pottery from indigenous pre-Columbian cultures. Today the gold collection comprises 55,000 pieces and 6,000 of the pieces are on display in the expanded museum facility.
