Our first stop takes you straight to the Blue Mountains’ most famous landmark: Echo Point. Witness the iconic Three Sisters rock formation towering proudly over the Jamison Valley. Arriving early allows you to capture the essential mountain photo and hear fascinating Aboriginal legends connected to this dramatic landscape before the big crowds arrive.
Next, we immerse ourselves in nature with a combined stop at Maple Grove Park and Katoomba Cascades. First, keep your eyes and ears open for a wild Cockatoo/Parrot Encounter in the park; raucous sulphur-crested cockatoos are often spotted here (wildlife sightings aren't guaranteed, but we know the best places to look!). Then, enjoy a refreshing, easy stroll along the boardwalks to view the beautiful segmented waterfall of Katoomba Cascades tumbling down the cliff face.
Then, prepare for the ultimate Blue Mountains thrills at Scenic World. Experience all three rides: take the world’s steepest passenger railway down into the ancient rainforest, glide across the abyss on the Skyway (brave the glass-floor section!), and ascend on the Cableway for unbeatable cliff-side panoramas.
After a morning of adventure, we head into historic Katoomba Village for a relaxing lunch break. Enjoy free time to choose from a variety of charming local cafes and eateries (lunch at own expense) and soak up the town's unique, retro mountain atmosphere.
Following lunch, we escape the tourist trail to visit a stunning hidden gem: Cahill’s Lookout. Enjoy spectacular, sweeping views over the Megalong Valley from this quieter vantage point, which offers the best front-row seat to view the distinctive Boar's Head Rock formation.
Finally, unwind in the charming “garden village” of Leura. Browse boutique shops, treat yourself to famous local artisan chocolates or creamy ice cream, or grab a flat white before settling into the Mercedes for a comfortable return journey to Sydney.
